Yep – all the ingredients are there for the 2010 Twin Cities Loppet or City of Lakes Loppet – whichever you prefer. I spent a little bit of time at this event today, February 7, 2010 snapping some photos until my fingers could no longer take the cold. The impending snow storm was moving in so I did get some sunlight through the clouds for about the first hour of shooting and then turned more cloudy which coincided with my fingers getting cold – so I packed it in and when home.
I was at this event in 2008 (link to gallery) and found it to be a good sporting event to practice my photography – sporting event, action, outdoor elements, concentrating on when to snap the shutter – which seems easy but the movement of the arms in this type of skiing event has their hands covering their face for a quick second so it does take a little concentration and practice to keep from pressing the shutter when that happens.

PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHEN NOT TO PRESS THE SHUTTER RELEASE
The full gallery of photos can be found here although it might be a few days before I work on this gallery full-time as I’m still busy with the Edina High School hockey photos.
