Update March 2, 2010 - all the photos from this game have been posted – I got all these processed, cropped and uploaded in record time I think.

UPDATE February 27, 2010:  Home from the game – shot a total of 2,574 images tonight.   The lighting at Bloomington Ice Garden is actually brighter than Braemar – which seems odd as Braemar has a ton of lights on the ceiling – but I was able to shoot at 1/800′s or sometimes 1/1,000′s of a second and still keep the auto-ISO below 3,000 – which was awesome!  I’ll start working on these photos right away so check back for updates!

ORIGINAL POSTING: Battery is fully charged, two 16gb compact flash cards reformatted and ready for new images, D3 and lens on stand-by for another match up of Edina and Holy Angels at the Section 2AA Semi-Finals at Bloomginton Ice Garden.

The game tonight will be a little bit of deja-vu for me as I’ve shot images of these two teams at the Semi-Finals on two other occassions – on February 23, 2008 and February 28, 2009.  The Bloomington Ice Garden is a pretty good rink to shoot photos in as it has decent lighting – all florescent, which is different than the lighting at Braemar but my D3 handles it fine.  The only things I dislike about this match up at this arena is the crowds!!  It is always a full house, standing room only event which means I have to get there a bit early to grab a spot on the upper row – standing the whole time on the bench shooting over the crowds and the higher glass that BIG has.  My 300mm lens will get me in pretty close to the action so no worries there but it certainly isn’t ideal conditions or at least to my preferences.

Below are a few images from the 2009 match up of these two teams at BIG – Edina won both games the last two years – will be interesting to see what happens tonight!
